Thank you for a good meeting in Oslo in June.

Amateur radio and the Internet are necessary tools for taking part in the the annual worldwide events «Jamboree-on-the-Air» (JOTA) and «Jamboree-on-the-Internet» (JOTI), where about half a million guides and scouts make contact with each other.

For preparing and running JOTA and JOTI, each country depends on the International Commissioner (IC) and their own “specialist”, such as their National JOTA/JOTI Organizer (NJO) and/or teams, working on the national level.

The first International JOTA Conference was held in Norway in 1975 during the 14th World Scout Jamboree. This year we were back to where it all started.

The seminar was organized by WOSM and held in Oslo at the Rønningen Folkehøgskole in cooperation between the school and the Guides and Scouts of Norway (Speidernes fellesorganisasjon i Norge), consisting of the Norwegian scout associations Norges speiderforbund and Norges KFUK-KFUM-speidere. (The Norwegian Guide and Scout Association and The YWCA-YMCA Guides and Scouts of Norway)

We had a licence for the call LA7ERS to use for amateur radio during the seminar. See http://www.qrz.com/LA7ERS.
